Many exotic beasts, people, creatures, and items endowed with enormous power can be found in video games. These can take the form of various relics, armour, weapons, and other items. Providing a refreshing variety of boons to those who grasp them and the power within.
Some artifacts have more power than others, which can be dangerous to those who own them. Because their power is not meant to be held by mortal hands, or it comes at a cost that must be paid.
El Dorado – Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
The first Uncharted game featured the franchise’s main character Nathan Drake on his way to discovering El Dorado, a place from stories and legends in his ancestor’s chronicles. Following in his ancestor’s footsteps, Drake embarks on a perilous quest that quickly reveals the truth: El Dorado is not a place, but an object.
The thing in question is a regal golden sarcophagus that would undoubtedly fetch a high price, but it comes with a price of its own: it unleashes a curse on mankind, transforming them into crazy zombies with a mind only for violence and bloodshed. Not everything that glitters is gold.
Auriel’s Bow – The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim

Set in Termina rather than Hyrule, Link is cursed by Skull Kid to exist as a deku scrub and sets out to ruin the region with no regard for the residents who have chosen not to escape. Though Skull Kid was not the only architect of the doomsday plan, he was influenced by the Majora’s Mask, which is claimed to be a sentient mask that bestows wickedness and power on its wearer and has no qualms about wreaking havoc and causing carnage.
Dark Crystal – Final Fantasy
The Dark Crystal, possessed by the wicked villain Garland in the original Final Fantasy, is a powerful object that may be highly harmful in the wrong hands. Though its original appearance does not expressly declare the powers housed within the murky facets of this crystal. It does have the ability to travel through time, which is disclosed in a game released twenty years later.
This ability enables Garland to travel back in time and become Chaos, the game’s final boss. Chaos, as the name implies, is a demonic beast ready to wreak havoc on the earth. Equipped with the capacity to create time loops at his gnarled fingertips. However, Garland/Chaos is not the only possessor of the Dark Crystal, as it appears in several Final Fantasy titles. And becomes an object sought after by both heroes and villains, albeit their motivations range drastically.
The Master Sword – The Legend Of Zelda
The Master Sword is the most famous magical sword in gaming history. And immediately comes to mind when asked about the most famous weapons in gaming. But the Master Sword is more than simply a weapon; it has immense power. The Master Sword retains its distinctive form with the blue hilt and is frequently drawn. From a stone in the middle of a forest, akin to the Sword in the Stone from Arthurian legends.
The Master Sword is the ultimate weapon Link requires to destroy Ganon and save Hyrul. Dealing harm and even possessing magical abilities. In Skyward Sword, Link can raise his sword aloft to emit magical energy beams at adversaries. And in Ocarina of Time, it can be used to travel between the two realities.
Pandora’s Box – God Of War
Pandora’s Box, based on the box of Greek mythology of the same name, is a recurring artifacts in the God of War series. Rumoured to contain the power to murder the almighty Gods.
Zeus had Hephaestus build the box to contain all major evils after the major War with the Titans. When the box is inevitably opened in God of War, the evil contained within is unleashed and corrupts the Gods of Mount Olympus, silently laying the groundwork for Kratos’ horrifically bloody campaign across Drift Boss game.
The Triforce – The Legend Of Zelda
The Triforce is a sacred relic made up of three triangles that unite to form one larger triangle and was given to Hyrule by the three Goddesses, Din, Nayru, and Farore, who were also responsible for the creation of Hyrule. Each component represents a different quality: courage, wisdom, and power, and each unique triforce is frequently possessed by one of the franchise’s three main characters: Link, Zelda, and Ganon.
The Triforce wields enormous power and is responsible for the world’s balance. It is stated that whoever receives the Triforce will have their desire accomplished regardless of whether their intentions are good or evil, making it highly deadly if it falls into the wrong hands, or a force for the betterment of humanity if it falls into the right hands.
Frostmourne – World Of Warcraft
Frostmourne, possibly the most infamous sword of all time, is the weapon that gave birth to the mythical Lich King. One of the most cherished World of Warcraft expansions of all time. This, on the other hand, is not just another basic blade with complex design features. Frostmourne carries a curse that damages anybody who dares to use it.
Frostmourne gets the ability to drain the life of everyone who wields or is wielded against by the sword. And steadily corrupts the one who possesses it, turning even the purest hearts a deep, rotting black.
